Alto, GA (December 27, 2024) – A traffic accident with injuries occurred late Thursday, December 26, in Alto. Three people were taken to the hospital after the accident on GA 365 near Duncan Bridge Road.
Preliminary reports reveal the collision occurred when Sandra Panoja, a 34-year-old resident of Alto, was headed south on GA 365 in the left turning lane. After failing to yield while turning onto Duncan Bridge Road, she collided with a northbound Honda Civic operated by Jarim Valderrama, 19, of Gainesville. The crash caused Panoja’s vehicle to spin and Valderrama’s vehicle went off of the road and struck a concrete island on Duncan Bridge Road. A passenger in the Honda, identified as Victoria Escamilla, of Cornelia, was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville with injuries. Both drivers were also transported to the hospital with injuries. Police in Alto continue to investigate.
