Atlanta, GA – One Killed, Six Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-75

Atlanta, GA (September 28, 2024) – One person lost their life and six others were hurt in a multi-vehicle accident on an interstate in Atlanta. 

Reports show the incident happened at approximately 1:34 p.m. on Friday, September 27. The wreck occurred on Interstate 75 near Howell Mill Road. The Georgia State Patrol reports that seven vehicles were involved in the collision. Vehicles collided in the fourth lane of Interstate 75 South while traffic was trying to divert around a disabled Pontiac. While vehicles slowed, two Freightliner trucks were involved in a crash with a Ford Transit van. The impact pushed a Hyundai into a Toyota Corolla which overturned and collided with an Audi A4. One of the Freightliners also turned over after steering to the left. A passenger inside the Toyota Corolla was pronounced deceased at the crash scene. Six other people sustained injuries and were taken to local hospitals for treatment. The southbound lanes of the interstate were closed for several hours following the crash. Multiple responders were present at the scene investigating the circumstances of the accident.
