Hundreds of thousands of car crashes happen in Georgia per year. On average, the state sees approximately 300,000 annual crashes that injure hundreds of thousands and take the lives of thousands more. These collisions happen for countless reasons, though driver negligence is often the most common. Driver errors, including negligent actions, are most often to blame, such as distraction, intoxication, speeding, and fatigue.
Those four types of driver negligence contribute to millions of accidents per year. Driver distraction accounts for 10% of the national accident fatality rate, while intoxication causes nearly 30% of all fatal traffic accidents in the United States.
