Georgia Car Accidents
Georgia experiences hundreds of thousands of car accidents each year, with an average of around 300,000 collisions annually. These crashes can result from a variety of factors, but the leading cause both in Georgia and across the United States is driver error, which accounts for over 94% of accidents.
Negligent driving takes many forms, including distraction, intoxication, speeding, and fatigue. Together, these behaviors contribute to millions of crashes annually. Distraction alone is responsible for 10% of fatal accidents nationwide, while intoxicated driving causes nearly 30% of all deadly crashes in the U.S. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, accidents caused by negligent drivers tend to be far more devastating than those caused by non-negligent drivers.
