Gainesville, GA (December 12, 2024) – A man in Gainvesille suffered serious injuries in a collision late Wednesday night, December 11. Reports from authorities show it occurred just before 10:15 p.m. on Thomspon Bridge Road on Wednesday. Responders were seen working near the intersection with Hubert Stephens Road in front of the Fieldale Farms plant. Police say a motorcycle was headed south on Thompson Bridge Road when approaching the northern entrance of the Fieldale Plant. A van was simultaneously attempting to turn left to head north on Thompson Bridge Road when the accident occurred. The motorcycle rider was identified as 42-year-old Steven Duane Bell of Gainesville. Bell was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained severe injuries. He was transported to the nearest hospital for treatment. The driver of the van was not hurt in the crash. Police continue to investigate.
