Across Georgia and the rest of the U.S., driver negligence is the leading cause of most car accidents. In a recent year alone, over 11,000 people lost their lives due to drunk driving. Negligent driving is responsible for more than 400,000 accidents each year, and according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, it accounts for over 90% of all reported crashes.
Currently, the leading cause of Georgia car accidents is failing to use a turn indicator, which is a form of driver negligence. Most of these accidents are caused by speeding, driver intoxication, distraction, and fatigue.
