Georgia Traffic Accidents
Car crashes are a daily occurrence in Georgia, with over 1,000 accidents reported every day. Annually, this translates to more than 300,000 collisions in the Peach State. These incidents stem from a variety of causes, including inclement weather, mechanical failures, and, most commonly, negligent driving. Across the United States, driver negligence is responsible for the majority of reported car accidents.
Negligent driving takes on many forms, and some of the most prevalent behaviors contributing to roadway dangers include:
- Speeding
- Fatigue
- Intoxication
- Distraction
The consequences of these behaviors are devastating. Each year, distracted driving alone claims the lives of more than 3,000 people in the U.S., while speeding contributes to the deaths of over 11,000 individuals annually. Surviving an auto accident caused by negligent driving can leave victims and their families overwhelmed, grappling with physical injuries, emotional trauma, and financial hardships.
