Georgia Car Wrecks
The state of Georgia sees hundreds of thousands of car accidents per year. On average, there are approximately 300,000 collisions in the Peach State every year. These accidents can happen for several different reasons. The leading cause of automobile wrecks in Georgia and throughout the United States is currently driver error, accounting for over 94% of crashes.
Driver negligence comes in many forms, including distraction, intoxication, speeding, and fatigue. Those four types of driver negligence contribute to millions of accidents per year. Driver distraction accounts for 10% of the national accident fatality rate, while intoxication causes nearly 30% of all fatal traffic accidents in the United States. According to information provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the majority of auto accidents are caused by the actions of negligent drivers in the United States. These wrecks are much more devastating than those caused by drivers who are not acting negligently.
