Georgia Pedestrian Crashes
Pedestrian crashes happen frequently in Georgia and across the United States. Due to the fact that pedestrians travel with very little protection against the force of fast and heavy vehicles, they often suffer serious or even deadly injuries when they become involved in accidents. In 2023, more than 300 individuals were killed in Georgia pedestrian crashes. This is a slight decrease from the previous year, where 335 people lost their lives in pedestrian wrecks in the Peach State. Throughout the country, over 7,000 people are hurt in yearly pedestrian accidents. These wrecks are often caused by the actions of negligent drivers.
Negligent driving is the main culprit behind the majority of auto collisions in the United States. In Georgia, distracted driving is the main cause of pedestrian crashes today. Driver distraction causes over 400,000 traffic accidents every year in the United States.
