Hall Co., GA (March 18, 2025) – A Clarkesville man is facing several charges after the death of a woman from Cornelia. George Lovell Boggs, 46, was booked into Hall County Jail on Monday morning, March 17, after being charged with the death of Julie Anna Griffith. Griffith was fatally injured in a collision on Interstate 985 at Lanier Parkway. At approximately 2:00 p.m. on March 5, the collision took place in Flowery Branch when Boggs failed to brake for slowing vehicles. Boggs’ vehicle collided with the rear of an SUV and a car in front of him, causing a chain reaction collision that involved two other vehicles.
Five victims were transported by Hall County fire Rescue to Northeast Georga Medical Center. Griffith was riding in one of the vehicles initially struck by Boggs. She lost her life eight days later due to the extent of her injuries. The other four victims were treated and released from the hospital. Boggs has also been charged with distracted driving, misdemeanor reckless driving, two counts of following too closely, and defective equipment. Police in Hall County continue to investigate the details of the incident.
We want to offer our sincere condolences to the family of Juile Anna Griffith.
