Georgia Car Crashes
Every year, the state of Georgia sees hundreds of thousands of car accidents, with an average of about 300,000 collisions occurring in the Peach State. These accidents can result from a variety of factors, but the leading cause of automobile wrecks in Georgia, as well as across the United States, is driver error, which accounts for over 94% of crashes.
Driver negligence can take many forms, including distraction, intoxication, speeding, and fatigue. These four types of negligence contribute to millions of accidents each year. For instance, driver distraction is responsible for 10% of the national accident fatality rate, while intoxication leads to nearly 30% of all fatal traffic accidents in the United States. According to data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, most auto accidents are caused by the actions of negligent drivers. These types of wrecks tend to be much more devastating compared to those involving drivers who are acting responsibly.
