Hall Co., GA – Two Injured in Five-Car Accident on I-985 near Exit 17

Hall Co., GA (March 6, 2025) – Two people suffered serious injuries in a traffic accident in Hall County. Reports from authorities show the incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, March 5. Police, paramedics, and fire crews were dispatched to the crash scene at approximately 2:00 p.m. on Interstate 985 near Exit 17 at Atlanta Highway.

Police said a driver failed to brake for slowed traffic and rear-ended two vehicles, then struck two in front of them. Two individuals, a man and a woman, were seriously injured and transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville by ambulance. The northbound side of the interstate was closed for nearly two hours while responders worked to clear the wreckage from the roadway.

At this time, the names of the victims have not been reported. Police in Hall County continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
