Hart Co., GA – One Killed in Collision on GA 77 near Stephen Johnson Rd

Hart Co., GA (April 10, 2025) – A three-car crash took one life in Hart County on Wednesday, April 9. Responders were dispatched to the scene on Georgia Route 77 near Stephen Johnson Road just before 9:24 a.m.

The Georgia State Patrol said a 2023 Dodge Ram 1500, a 1995 Ford Ranger, and a 2021 GMC Yukon XL were all headed north on GA 77. According to reports, all three vehicles were involved in a chain-reaction crash. The driver of the Ford, identified as 68-year-old William Stanley Bridges of Elberton, lost his life at the scene. The GMC’s driver sustained injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment, while the Dodge’s driver was unharmed.

Police in Hart County continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
