Hartwell, GA – Woman Injured in Three-Car Wreck on GA 51

Hartwell, GA (November 1, 2024) – A woman from Hartwell suffered serious injuries when she was ejected from her vehicle during a car accident on Georgia Route 51. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene at around 3:40 p.m. on October 29.

Reports from authorities show three vehicles crashed near Sundown Circle. The woman was identified as Jacqueline Wallace. She was operating a Honda Accord headed east on GA 51 when she was involved in a crash with a Chevy Camaro. The Camaro was stopped in the eastbound lane, waiting to turn left into a private driveway, when the Accord crashed into it. The Accord was also involved in a crash with a Western Star concrete truck due to the first wreck, which caused it to overturn. Wallace was ejected from her vehicle during the three-car wreck. She was taken to the hospital for treatment from the scene. The concrete truck driver was identified as Demitrius Oglesby, 25, of Hartwell. He was transported to AnMed Medical Center in Anderson with minor injuries.
