Oakwood, GA (March 27, 2025) – A collision left the northbound side of Interstate 985 closed north of Oakwood on Wednesday, March 26. The Georgia State Patrol reports the crash occurred north of Exit 17 at Atlanta Highway shortly before 4:00 p.m.
Three cars were involved in the accident that occurred when two of them slowed for traffic and were allegedly struck by the third from behind. The at-fault vehicle, a red Ford F-150, overturned and landed on the guardrail of the interstate. The driver, identified as Travis Roland, 66, and both individuals inside the middle vehicle, including a pregnant woman, were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with injuries. The person operating the third vehicle reportedly suffered injuries but was not sent to the hospital. Police in Oakwood continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
